Current medical practice
Dr. Gurkina received her medical degree at Rostov State Medical University in 1986 and completed her residency at Kamensk-Shahtinsk Children's Hospital, where she had been working for 2 years before she joined Central City Hospital in Antratsyt. There she succeeded in her career as a pediatrician and later as a head of Pediatric Department. Dr. Gurkina also has worked as an assistant medical director of Antratsyt territorial medical union and as a regional pediatrician.
Doctor performs supervision over children’s health formation during the whole period of growth and development, an integrated pediatric diseases treatment and their prevention.
Dr. Gurkina regularly attends post-graduate courses in fields of pediatrics and healthcare organization management. She has visited numerous advanced training courses, the last ones among them are:
«Ultrasound diagnostics of abdominal, cervical and retroperitoneal space organs», 2008;
«Actual issues of pediatric cardiology and pulmonology», 2014;
«Pharmaceutical therapy of internal diseases», 2014.
Doctor’s a member of the Ukrainian Association of pediatricians, the Federation of pediatricians of CIS Countries, the Russian Union of pediatricians and annually attends medical congresses.
Dr. Gurkina believes that following doctor’s recommendations is extremely important for building up interrelations between a patient and a doctor and for successful treatment. For this purpose Natalia always seeks for a partnership contact establishment, for cooperation with a child and a family. Dr. Gurkina also empowers small patients’ family members through deep consultation over the health issues for achievement a mutual understanding.
Doctor Gurkina loves children, she’s sociable, benevolent and responsible. She can keep emotionally steady in different conflict situations. On her off days Natalia likes to travel and is fond of cookery.
