  4. Initial consultation: The pediatrician begins the appointment with a detailed discussion of your child's health. The doctor carefully listens to your concerns, asks when the symptoms first appeared and how they have changed over time, and reviews your child's diet, previous illnesses, vaccination history, family medical history, and other important factors.
