Family doctor home visit
A family doctor’s home visit is an in-person consultation for patients who, for various reasons, find it inconvenient to visit the medical centre. During the visit, the doctor examines the patient, assesses their health, answers questions about treatment, test results or examinations, and helps determine the appropriate next steps.

When should you request a family doctor home visit?
- Your child or an adult family member is physically unable or finds it difficult to travel to the medical centre because of their condition.
- There is a fever, weakness, pain, cough or other symptoms that make travelling to an appointment difficult or inappropriate.
- You need an assessment after an illness or to evaluate how the condition is changing during treatment.
- A chronic condition has worsened and requires an in-person medical assessment.
- Your child needs to be examined at home because arranging a visit to the medical centre is difficult.
- An older person needs medical assessment but has limited mobility.
- New symptoms have appeared, but it is not yet clear whether a specialist consultation is necessary.
- Previous test or examination results need to be reviewed in the context of the patient’s current condition.
- A follow-up examination is needed after a consultation or course of treatment.

A home visit: what happens from booking to medical advice?
The patient examination at home is conducted taking into account the patient's condition and the reason for the visit
Call the Doctor Sam medical center at +380 97 312 92 91. The receptionist will ask for details such as whether the consultation is for a child or an adult, the address, the main complaints, and the preferred time for the visit to determine the most appropriate type of appointment.
During the visit, the doctor first discusses the patient’s symptoms, the course of the illness, previous treatment, existing chronic conditions and medications currently being taken. The doctor then performs an in-person examination and assesses the patient’s overall condition. Depending on the symptoms, this may include checking vital signs and assessing the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, throat, abdomen or other areas relevant to the patient’s concerns.
Based on the examination, the doctor determines the next steps: treatment, monitoring, additional investigations or consultation with a specialist. If laboratory tests or diagnostic examinations are needed, the family doctor can determine which investigations are appropriate for the particular situation.
If, after discussing the situation, a physical examination is not necessary, an [online family doctor consultation] may be a more appropriate option. If diagnostic testing or an in-person assessment at the medical centre is required, you can book a family doctor consultation for adults or a family doctor consultation for children.
Home visits are available for both children and adults. If you are outside this service area, a home consultation may still be possible through the separate family doctor home visit service in Kyiv.
